Analysis of how people may react when they find that the day of judgement is true.

Assume that after we died we are brought back into the earth and we see that it is the day of judgement on us humans. What kind of thoughts will pass through our minds?

My analysis is the following: People from this current era ( who mostly don’t spend time searching for truth or caring about whether the truth exists or not) will be a bit surprised to see themselves back on the earth in such a scene ( amongst humans from other nations and eras and generations ). They may recall that there were amongst them in their time people who were concerned about searching for truth and found their paths in life and travelled them, many of them having adopted a belief in an eternal life and started to prepare for this eternity through good deeds and applying the guidance available from their Creator. They accepted that many around them were not interested in listening and were fixated on living their limited first life as if it was the only life available to them. So they let them go about their life while they went about theirs.

Come judgement day they would be the happier lot and would be racing to see what their accumulation for their heavenly life would be ( ie what their position is in that new life). Meanwhile those who thought there was only the first life would be being taken for judgement. Being questioned about the reasons they were living their lives the way the did. What their decision process was. What their rationale was. I assume that here many would say that we didn’t realise it was an important thing. That figuring out why we were here wasn’t that important to them. There were books and religions ( as well as people) who did talk about such matters but we didn’t really pay too much attention to them. We believed they were living in some old era and hadn’t moved on to the present time where we mostly were.  So we decided to focus on enjoying our first life and not care too much about after death ( we especially liked focussing on our pension and preparing for the retirement life segment ). And that if there was life after death, that we would fair well in it ( a degree of hopeful optimism as we didn’t regard ourselves as evil people. We were reasonably good people we believed).

But returning back to the judgement day scene we may consider that our thinking may have not been the best. And that maybe we shouldn’t have been so dismissive of those who believed in such things. Nor the many holy books that talked about them, nor the many saints who had full belief in them. So maybe we would have thought of ourselves more as losers rather than winners. And that our future ( our coming eternal life) may not be so good.

Coming back to the here and now, if that scene was a true reality, would we think about changing the way we think today ? Changing the way we see the truth? Or shall we continue in our dismissive attitude ?
